How often do I take Oregon’s beauty for granted? From our window seat at Bayview Thai Kitchen (250 US-101, Depoe Bay, OR 97341) my sister-in-law pointed out a small park where one of her favorite short hikes begins. “The trees are just so beautiful!” When her mom visited last summer, she took pictures of the trees. “We just don’t have trees like that in Florida!”
It’s likely that I talk about exercise more over a meal with friends that at any other time and this was no exception. We were talking about the challenges of aging and about how important it is to move every day. For the past three years we’e been talking about taking a hike. Someday, we’ll visit Drift Creek Falls or Fogarty Creek State Park
As we talked about possible movement opportunities during our lunch at Bayview Thai Kitchen, we enjoyed the beautiful view overlooking the smallest bay in the world. I’ve been through Depoe Bay roughly 180 times in my lifetime and my window seat at Bayview Thai Kitchen revealed a view I’d need seen.
This special spot is closed on Wednesdays during the winter. Sweet, sweet NamYen knows her customers well. She remembered when family from Florida and Central Oregon visited. My very shy nephew loves to visit with her and she knows that he loves the crab friend rice! The service at Bayview Thai Kitchen was amazing indeed! Soft flute music played as we sipped golden tea with a hint of spice served in a glass 60s style cup.
Bayview Thai Kitchen is my new favorite place to lunch on the Central Oregon Coast.
